Eleven international visual artists explore the concept of entropy applied to the contemporary in the collective exhibit presented by Parasol Unit. Darren Almond, Oliver Beer, Rana Begum with Hyetal, Julian Charrière, David Claerbout, Bharti Kher, Arghavan Khosravi, Teresa Margolles, Si On, Martin Puryear and Rayyane Tabet using different media try to find an answer to the urgent demands that threaten our world. Just as in thermodynamics entropy increases to become dangerous under the pressure of external conditions, so in our Planet entropy, caused by our own wicked existence, can create irreversible damage. Fully aware of this, the artists strive with a critical sense and impartiality to highlight some of the main problems on this subject in the hope of reopening a new door towards a more livable future.
