The hydro power plant launched in the Dusheti region in 1985 is still very relevant today for the supply of water and electricity to Tbilisi. The building of the plant determined the flooding of the nearby village of Zhinvali as well as of neolithic settlements and other cultural heritage, like the Jvaripatiosani Basilica from the twelfth century, which remains submerged for the better part of the year. Remains and ruins are the object of a reconstruction of the territory’s spatial memories and its primal archetypes.
