Hy-Brasil is a legendary island in the Atlantic that embodies the idea of a new face of Ireland and its Atlantic territories. Drawings, models, screenings, maps, and stories visualize an investigation carried out in remote Irish islands to trace connections between the social fabric, the cultural landscapes, and the delicate ecological balance in those territories. Switching between the global and the local, the territorial and the intimate, the Pavilion offers an immersive experience where light is mostly natural to reproduce the real-life conditions of the islands and make visitors more aware on such topics as renewable energy sources, ethical farming, and biodiversity.
