The transcendent locality in question is the physical and emotional territory migrants live in, perpetually suspended between their homeland and their new residence – a status midway between the physical present and the abandoned past. The Pavilion examines the migratory wave that poured into Kosovo following the disintegration of former Yugoslavia to analyse its impact on Kosovo’s development. By studying the influence of migration social networks on the urban areas of the host country, the project questions what are the most appropriate practices to adopt in such context in terms of architectural planning, in order to create more liveable urban contexts and promote civil resilience.
