The project tackles the global issue of freshwater shortage by analysing seven regions in Portugal. The work involved younger generations in particular, and aims at developing strategies to manage and store water resources – an essential step to secure a more fertile, sustainable, and equitable future. At the same time, the exhibition affirms the relevance of architecture in designing a decarbonized, decolonized, collaborative future, to answer the appeal of Biennale curator Lesley Lokko.
