The first section of the exhibition, Lost Innovations, consists of a set of original artefacts created by Romanian innovators, including a still running 1904 electric car and a tool used in radioactivity science. Visitors are invited to reflect on the way ideas are conceived within a laboratory, not on a blank slate. They build upon existing research and science and on the dilemmas and contradictions that accompanied technology since its inception. The installation then shows 100 case studies on interdisciplinary projects that highlight the impact architects and designers can have at a social, political, and economic level.
