Ana lives a narrow reality with her mother, grandmother and her two brothers. On one hand the finite geography of an island, the São Miguel island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and on the other religion, traditions and the rigorous division of roles among female and male worlds. Nevertheless, this certain but seeming balance will be gradually put in crisis in her mind by the habits of her friend Luis of wearing dresses and trousers, and the arrival from Canada of Chloé, who will bring fresh, innovative and exciting news.

Cláudia Varejão

Born in Porto, in 1980, after having studied the Program of Creativity and Artistic Creation at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and photography at AR.CO (Center for Art and Visual Communication) in Lisbon, she debuts in cinema with Ama-san, even though she previously realized the trilogy of short films entitled Weekend, A Cold Day and Morning Light. Lobo e cão, previewed at the Venice Film Festival 2022, deals with the problematic issue of genre identity and represents a powerful tribute to the queer community of São Miguel island.
