Daily lives enjoying their summer – a combination that French cinema is master at. At his second feature film, Eustache follows Daniel, an adolescent boy leaving the town he lives in with his grandmother to see his mother in Narbonne. Large roads dotted with motorcycles, blue skies tormented by chirping crickets, and villages oppressed by the summer heat – all immersed in outstanding cinematography by Nestor Almendros.
