Produced by Mompracem and RAI Cinema, the short movie tells the story of Nadia, a lonely, diffident girl who wears an eyepatch. As she walks by the riverbank looking for adventure in the company of some stray cats, she notices a mistreated boy who has been locked up in a shed by bullies.
Nadia walks away, then, drawn by curiosity, walks back and tries to set the boy free. The wall the separates them offers Nadia the chance to play pretend and feel, in the game of seduction, a sudden drive to grow up.
A member of the international jury in the Main Competition at the VFF last year, Leonardo Di Costanzo is an appreciated director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. He presented his debut feature in Venice: L’intervallo, which went on to earn an award at the Orizzonti section in 2012 and a Donatello’s David in the following year. His Ariaferma, starring Silvio Orlando and Toni Servillo, was presented out of competition at the Venice Film Festival in 2021, and later earned a Donatello’s David for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor (Orlando).
