After tackling the sense of touch in the 2021 edition, entitled “First Sense”, and after breaking down all boundaries with “Boundary-less” in 2022, director Wayne McGregor presents the 17th edition of the International Festival of Contemporary Dance, the third of his tenure. The programme includes numerous daily appointments with international soloists and companies, with performances in the Arsenale, at Ca’ Giustinan, at the Teatro Malibran and a special event at the Albanese Park in Mestre, as well as the Biennale College Danza activity, dedicated to education and training projects that become an integral part of the Festival schedule, with Masters of the calibre of Xie Xin.
Among the most eagerly awaited events will be the inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to movement artist Simone Forti, Leone d’Oro alla Carriera, and the Silver Lions Tao Ye and Duan Ni of the Beijing company Tao Dance Theater, who on 28 and 29 July will present the European premiere at the Teatro Malibran of three choreographies that continue the sequence of the Numerical Series with which they have established themselves on the international scene.
