After addressing the sense of touch in the 2021 edition titled “First Sense”, breaking down all boundaries with “Boundary-less” in 2022, and exploring Altered States in 2023, director Wayne McGregor presents We Humans, the 18th International Festival of Contemporary Dance, the fourth and final of his first term.
The program includes numerous daily events featuring soloists and national and international companies, with performances spreading from the heart of the Arsenale to various locations in the city, including Ca’ Giustinan, Teatro Malibran, and Parco Albanese in Mestre. Additionally, there will be activities from Biennale College Danza, dedicated to training projects that become an integral part of the Festival’s schedule. Three projects selected through the Call for New Choreographies 2023 will be produced thanks to Biennale: the new interdisciplinary work by Argentine director, visual artist, installation specialist, and contemporary dancer Melisa Zulberti, There Was Still Time by the Miller de Nobili collective (MdN), and folklore dynamics by Noemi Dalla Vecchia and Matteo Vignali (Vidavè).
