Venezia81 will take place from August 28 to September 7, 2024, thus in advance of the 2023 Venice81, which saw Yorgos Lanthimos, Matteo Garrone triumph and had American Damien Chazelle, the youngest director capable of winning an Oscar for Best Director, as Jury President. As every year, the best of world cinema meets at the Venice Lido for the world’s oldest film exhibition.The festival is officially recognized by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations). The Exhibition aims to promote the knowledge and dissemination of international cinema in all its forms of art, entertainment and industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. A section is devoted to the enhancement of restoration operations of classic films to contribute to a better knowledge of film history, particularly for the benefit of young audiences.
