Conceived in 2017 to celebrate and promote “the art of fire,” The Venice Glass Week is the international festival dedicated to glass art, an artistic and economic activity for which the lagoon city has been renowned worldwide for over a thousand years. From September 13 to 21, visitors will have the opportunity to explore exhibitions, studios, workshops, and furnaces, as well as participate in workshops, performances, activities for children and families, and guided tours. A series of meetings and conferences will address the hottest topics related to the production and sustainability of this sector of excellence in Made in Italy, which has long been facing challenges. The undisputed protagonist is artistic glass in its various and fascinating forms – an art balanced between past and future, tradition and contemporary trends. Notable events include the The Venice Glass Week HUB at Palazzo Loredan on the main floor and The Venice Glass Week HUB Under35, two exhibitions offering an intriguing overview of the most innovative artistic research related to this fascinating material.
