ALEXANDRA PIRICI

BORN 1982, Bucharest, Romania
LIVES&WORKS Bucharest, Romania

Trained as a dancer, Pirici uses choreography to create and shape the environment around us, usually with the help of large crews of performers in what may be called, in today’s terminology, a flash mob. In her view, art is an interpretative act that uses the same constituting elements of real life, and is able to absorb cultural staples such as the notions of boundary, humour, music and use them to creative ends. Once objectified and reassembled, these fragments will be the field of action of intersubjectivity.
