ALLISON KATZ

BORN 1980, Montréal, Canada
LIVES&WORKS London, UK

In her artistic approach, Allison Katz embraces the ambiguity of communication with a playful, investigative touch and by doing so, she expands the conventional notion of an artist’s ‘style’. Her work exists within a poetic space between mirror and mask, between revealing and concealing what is presented to us. It also focuses on the multiple layers of conscience that reside on the surface and on the subject of a painting. Her goal is to show the stories of images using the tension between what is seen and what is not.
