AMAA COLLABORATIVE ARCHITECTURE OFFICE FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

WHERE Venice, Italy
PEOPLE Marcello Galiotto (b. Arzignano, Italy, 1986), Alessandra Rampazzo (b. Mirano, Italy, 1986)

A young Italian studio based in the very building that earned them the Young Italian Architects Award in 2020: practically a manifesto of the spatial thought, professional education, and dense academic research around which the studio is based. Agile architecture that defines itself in pure material details and that works against the grain in the challenging context of Italy, where the simple fact of not leaving is itself a statement and where architecture must be mediated, negotiated and debated. A collaborative practice where the individual leaves room for the whole, resting on material synthesis that the splendid designs return with eloquent effectiveness.
