ATELIER MASŌMĪ

WHERE Niamey, Niger
PEOPLE Mariam Issoufou Kamara (b. St Etienne, France, 1979)

An architecture of possibilities, whose two core values are building material as a representation of existence and ancestral memory and the enhancement of human dignity as a mission – meaning the improvement of human living conditions in everyday life. Their designs build social fabric using the essential material of architecture: space and proxemics. atelier masōmī’s philosophy transcends any specific geographical provenance, whether western, or African, to rather seek an “otherwise” that is already present.
