CANDICE LIN

BORN 1979, Concord, USA
LIVES&WORKS Los Angeles, USA

Candice Lin’s art is often multi-sensorial and is realised with organic material and through natural processes inherent to the creative process. Installations, sculptures, drawings, ceramic pieces, and video art are born of the contamination among different materials, which the artist uses to confront, in critical fashion, the subjects she holds dearest, especially ethnography and the history of colonialism and slavery at every latitude. Lin is also interested in gender politics, especially the vilification of the female body and its commodification in societies all around the world, and in every epoch.
