Born in Turin, Carlo Ginzburg is one of the most important historians worldwide, with works on the history of mentality and popular culture, historiography and methodology. Since 2006 he has been working at Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. Among his works are The Cheese and the Worms: The Cosmos of a Sixteenth-Century Miller (1976), The Enigma of Piero (1981), Ecstasies: Deciphering the Witches’ Sabbath (1989), Thread and Traces: True False Fictive (2006), Nonetheless: Machiavelli, Pascal (2018), and The Letter Kills (2021).
