CRAIG MCCLENAGHAN ARCHITECTURE

WHERE Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa
PEOPLE Craig McClenaghan (b. East-London, South Africa, 1977)

A South African studio which bases its practice on the continuous search for a new correlation between spatial elements, the words we used to describe them, and the mental image we project on them. Their architectural research builds on the fluid layers and interactions that make up modern African spaces, focusing on themes of origin, consolidation, race, and identity. Drawings, images and descriptions are the tools of choice for this spatial journey into memory as an archive opening onto an elsewhere that already exists.
