Choreographer and dancer by profession, the Korean artist mixes dance, theater, video and sculpture, focusing her research on the relationship between nature and technology. In her performances Geumhyung Jeong combines the movements of her body with those of bizarre animatronic constructions that she realizes herself, following tutorials and working as a self-taught. The artist’s performances are crowded with disjointed and disturbing objects, which interact with each other in unexpected ways and not without an ironic vein, pushing the viewer to look for similarities and differences, continuously redrawing the boundaries of the human and the non-human.
