PEOPLE Ibrahim Mahama (b. Tamale, Ghana, 1987)

A Ghanaian artist of international fame, Mahama works on large-scale installations that impact deeply on an urban scale. The artist is known for his work in textiles and on their social relations when employed in public works (like the one at Porta Venezia, Milan, 2019) where they are able to spark debate on diversity and inclusion. Mahama also founded the Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA), a place to imagine a different form of coexistence using art to foster dialogue.
