A survivor of the many times painting had been considered ‘dead’ over the last several decades, the artist maintains “painting can adapt to anything” as she comments on how she adapted the technique to a form of processual, never-finished art that plays with the concept of making art as well as with the short-lived existence of an established canon of digital languages. At Biennale, Humphries’ art will serve as part of a connecting bridge through different generations of artists.
