JUERGEN STROHMAYER AND GLENN DEROCHÉ

WHERE Accra, Ghana
PEOPLE Juergen Strohmayer (b. Istanbul, Turkey, 1990), Glenn DeRoché (b. New York, USA, 1985)

Young architect Strohmayer is committed to an ongoing dialogue with various disciplines, like fashion design or social activism, in Vienna and Accra. Glenn DeRoché is the manager of the Adjaye studio’s activities in Africa. Both work on architecture that moves across continents and imaginations. Among his recent works are the Fair Trade Zone, a complex in Akuse, Ghana designed for production, farming, and eco-tourism, and the Nubuke Gallery extension, which he developed with Baerbel Mueller. Holding the two worlds together are the ideas of comfort and trust which are essential to imagining and building more and better equitable spaces.
