Kate Otten’s designs have won prizes and been published all around the world thanks to the originality of a practice which blends building traditions, materials, cultures, colours, and modernity with extremely relevant spatiality and which is based around happiness, a value deriving only partly from generously architectural aspects and which finds its definition in a combination of attention, engagement, scouting, support, and testimony of architects, especially women, in southern Africa.
