KILLING ARCHITECTS

WHERE Rotterdam, The Netherlands
PEOPLE Alison Killing (b. Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, 1979)

Architecture and press converge in this Dutch studio, using the tools of architecture and urban planning in innovative ways to research social situations in urban geographies around the world with a reporter’s eye. Maps, satellite imaging, and 3D architectural models are just some of the storytelling techniques employed by Killing Architects to locate prisons in the Xinjiang region of China or to reconstruct the experience of migrants as they make their way into Europe.
