PEOPLE Guillaume Koffi (b. Gagnoa, Ivory Coast, 1959), Issa Diabaté (b. Abidjan, Ivory Coast, 1969)

This Ivorian studio researches solutions that work in synergy with the African tropical climate considering all feasible perspectives, from integration with the natural context to aware design from the points of view of energy and materials, both employed to the end goal of an architecture which empowers people to inhabit otherwise. Durability is at the core of each of these designs and the studio’s exhibit focuses on the urgent need to reflect upon a new kind of architecture that may give answers to modern issues by using locally-oriented solutions.
