Brandt is a German designer, painter and sculptor. After starting her career as an expressionist painter, she studied and worked within the Bauhaus. She was the first woman to become the owner of the Weimar metallurgy laboratory. Recognized for the simplicity of her design and the poetic use of geometric shapes, she worked as an industrial artist for many companies creating house furniture and objects such as ashtrays, teapots and clocks, even if she has been distinguished for experimenting lighting solutions.
