PEOPLE Mphethi Morojele (b. Maseru, Lesotho, 1963)

MMA’s practice consists of creating new space and new ways to experience the city or rediscover older ways of living in it. Under the guidance of its director Mphethi Morojele, the studio works on improving African life standards and giving answers to Africa’s problems by acknowledging its history and the ongoing construction of its identity. To this end, MMA explores indigenous, traditional knowledge in from a modern perspective, attempting to overcome the historical invisibility of African architecture by stimulating awareness of the surrounding space.
