Prabhakar Pachpute’s art is a reflection on work conditions, uncontrolled excavations, growing social inequalities, and land management policies currently in force in India. The artist comes from a family of miners, and his detailed art, his animations, and his charcoal drawings are tightly related to the material these themes focus on and that is so important in his family history. His fantastic landscapes and the hybrid figures living in them are part universal, part personal, thus rendering the complexity inherent to economic, social, and environmental change.
