A sculptor and director, Rebecca Horn develops her art using different languages and expressive techniques, with a focus on performance and installation art. She investigated, over time, the body’s potential to communicate by building body extensions using clothing, bandages, and objects that would alter the shape of her own body. Using mechanical sculptures made of feathers, pipes, funnels, metal bars, suitcases, scissors, eggs, brushes, violins, she created alienating situations that show how feelings and anxiety can grow from personal to collective.
