Working with many different media, including sculpture, video, music, social media, performance, photography, and using the most disparate materials, from delicate fabrics to inner tubes, from rubber to plastic, Sandra Mujinga investigates the limits of rational thought and explores new ways of thinking about the body, identity and representation. Inspired by science fiction literature and Afrofuturism, the Congolese artist creates post-human universes populated by mysterious characters, large alien but familiar sculptures, evoking ghostly time travellers from other universes.
