Over the past decade, Zheng Bo has begun to investigate new forms of intimacy and attention to the natural world. Through works ranging from video, performance, sculpture and workshops, the Chinese artist re-imagines nature in a non-anthropocentric vision of the world. The Pteridophilia film series, which began in 2016, develops the eco-queer theme and its potential, suggesting that interspecies forms of sexuality, between humans and non-humans, may be the key to a more ethical awareness of the planet, but also a more general tool for gender politics and sexual identity.
