Contrasting opposites

Malika Ayane's tour comes to the Toniolo on 16 November
by Giada Zuecco

Appointment in Mestre for Malika Ayane’s theatrical journey, between personal introspection and empathy with the audience.

There’s no me without us , no yin without yang, no white without black, no here without there. The cheerful, delicate, determined voice of Malika Ayane plays on this web of oppositions. Ayane, born in Milan in 1984, holds in herself the power of diversity and the splendour of humility. Malika had wanted to be a singer for a long time: she was accepted at the Music Conservatory in Milan at the young age of eleven, and sang in the Scala Theatre children’s choir. She found the theatre environment to be “the most beautiful place in the world”. In fact, her upcoming tour will start in a theatre, the Auditorium Santa Caterina in Trento, November 10.

On November 16, Malika Ayane will be in Mestre-Venice, at the Toniolo Theatre, to share with us the repertoire of her fifteen-year career. Live music, traditional sound, her amazing voice, and trusted performers: that’s all it takes to establish an authentic connection with her audience. Malika Ayane’s first, self-titled album came out in 2008, which we remember for debut single Sospesa. In 2009, she was on stage at Teatro Ariston for the Sanremo Festival, where she performed Come foglie. In the following year, she participated again with Ricomincio da qui. Both tracks earned critical acclaim and commercial success. Ayane released album after album in the following years, worked on beautiful collaboration, and made a name for herself internationally.
