Time Space Existence: a multi-pronged investigation on migrations
by Redazione VeNews

The several forms of architectural sustainability are at the centre of exhibition Time Space Existence, a plural investigation on the urgent themes of migration and social equality, building technology, urban development, and housing.

Using different media and different perspectives, the 2023 edition of the exhibition offers, in the three exhibition venues, proactive ideas and solutions.
The exhibition has been produced in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Programme, the Migration Policy Institute, and the MIT Civic Data Design Lab. It will document, via an exciting interactive visualization, the deepest causes of migration from Central America. Project Distance Unknown has been developed over a study that involved 5000 families from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras and that takes the form of a monumental piece of tapestry depicting the forces that drive vulnerable family to migration.

Norman Foster Foundation and Holcim present Essential Homes, a compact, sustainable dwelling unit of simple, linear design that addresses basic needs. It is comfortable and safe as well as an example of accessible housing that may mitigate the effect of the rising cost of living and, above all, address the need for social and spatial justice. Dwellings like these may be used in refugee camps or to house people displaces by natural disasters.
Contesting and Bridging Boundaries and Borders: the US-Mexico Indigenous and Migration Experience is a collection of mural paintings and video art inspired by the indigenous languages from the border areas between the United States and Mexico.
