The Laguna Libre stage will have the honour and privilege of hosting Margherita Fava, a young pianist and composer, only twenty-seven years old and exceptionally talented. According to critics, she is destined to become one of the future stars of world jazz. In 2014, she took part almost by chance in a summer seminar organised in Italy by the New School in New York, which introduced her to a world that was completely new to her: jazz, particularly that of Miles Davis. For some years now, she has been teaching at Lee University in Cleveland and is now permanently based in Tennessee. After a few years, Margherita returned to Italy, bringing with her a successful record entitled Tatatu, her first as a leader, in a quartet, in which she is joined by the famous saxophonist Gregory Tardy. During her long-awaited, albeit brief, return to Italy, Margherita Fava will give a few concerts as a trio, accompanied by a pair of excellent young musicians from the Veneto region: Marco Vavassori on double bass and Enrico Smiderle on drums. This extraordinary event is promoted in collaboration with the Caligola Records record label.
