For the Stranger Things aficionados, more than a rising star, she is a solid, very solid movie star. Her role in the fourth season of the Netflix-branded planetary success cannot but confirm her status. In the saga created by the Duffer Brothers, Sadie Sink is Maxine Max Mayfield, who entered the cast in the second season as she and her slacker stepbrother Billy move to California. Max soon acquires a pivotal role in the storyline. Sadie Sink must enjoy her central role, and carries it nonchalantly, able as she is to render her character’s nuances so authentically. Max fights not only Demogorgons and parallel universe, but also the demons of young age.
Born in Texas in 2002, Sadie has English, German, and Irish ancestry. Though young, she passed with flying colours every test her career subjected her to: Fear Street, Eli… she certainly isn’t afraid to take on the hardest roles. In Venice, the actress doubles down opposite Brendan Fraser in The Whale by Darren Aronofsky, a director who is not satisfied with his cast merely acting – he wants them to adhere wholly to a project, and lose themselves in the story to find out just how deep they can go. We know Sadie will measure up.
