The traditional watercade of historical Venetian boats. A grand parade – all in costumes and masks – following the triumph of a giant rat (it’s papier-mâché!), a tongue-in-cheek symbol of Venetian Carnival. The rat, pantegana in local parlance, will blow up by Rialto Bridge into confetti and streamers, and that’s when you start partying! Celebrations will go on at Erbaria (Rialto) with music and food.
