Il latte dei sogni
On the occasion of the Festa della Sensa, MUNAV – Venice’s Naval History Museum – opens its doors for a special evening that weaves together culture, history, and music in one of the most symbolic places of Venetian seafaring. The event, conceived and curated by D’Uva in collaboration with San Giorgio Café, marks the launch of a new recurring feature in the museum’s programming, part of a wider enhancement project initiated in 2024. Founded in 1923 and managed by the Italian Navy, MUNAV is Italy’s most important naval museum. With over 40 rooms, it tells the glorious story of the Serenissima and its fleet. For this special occasion, visitors will enjoy an immersive experience across the museum’s most iconic spaces: from the collections spread over five floors to the nighttime tour of the Enrico Dandolo submarine, all the way to the Ship Pavilion, housed in the historic oar-makers’ workshop.
At the symbolic heart of the evening is the story of the Bucintoro, the ceremonial vessel of the Doges, which every year during the traditional Marriage of the Sea ritual seals Venice’s bond with its lifeblood: the sea. MUNAV still preserves important relics from that era, including original fragments and a large wooden model of the State galley—an embodiment of the Serenissima’s power and beauty. To close the evening, the Ship Pavilion will host a DJ set with Tommy Vee and Michele Menini. At the bar, a selection of cocktails inspired by the Festa della Sensa will be curated by San Giorgio Café.
