The famous Minguet Quartett celebrate Luigi Nono’s hundredth birthday with a performance of Fragmente-Stille, an Diotima. Inspired by Hölderlin’s poetry, the piece paints a sound landscape of the human soul. Nono found the key to make new music in older music: for example, he based Fragmente- Stille on Verdi’s Ave Maria’s enigmatic scale and took inspiration on one of Beethoven’s string quartet.
