Il latte dei sogni
Far or near, known through travel or simply imagined, in the 19th century, foreign countries allow French music to reflect on its own identity. Palazzetto Bru Zane – Centre de musique romantique francaise, dedicates an entire cycle to them entitled Mirroring Worlds. Seven concerts and two conferences, scheduled in Venice from September 23 to October 27, will highlight foreign inspiration in 19th-century French music. The French musical production of the 19th century echoes this fascination: the plots of operas are mostly set outside national borders, while foreign dances fuel a large part of the instrumental repertoire.
