Sisters Lidija and Sanja Bizjak studied in Belgrade before enrolling in Jacques Rouvier’s classes at the Paris Conservatory. They started their career as solo performers before joining forces to play Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto with the Belgrade Philharmonic in 2002. The Bizjaks also performed for BBC Proms (Le Carnaval des Animaux and Britten Sinfonia at the Royal Albert Hall in London) and released their first album in 2012, a piano four hands collection of Stravinsky pieces. Festival Mondi Riflessi will close in their company on October 27, with music by Saint-Saëns, Chaminade, Bonis, Debussy, Ravel to celebrate the birth of a French national musical identity.
