Il latte dei sogni
To mark the summer solstice, the Marinaressa Gardens will host a full day of activities celebrating sustainable design and the poetry of shadow with SOMBRA Solstice, a special event by the renowned studio Metadecor, in collaboration with MVRDV, Airshade Technologies, the AMOLF Institute, ARUP, and Alumet.
Part of the Time Space Existence biennial, the SOMBRA installation responds dynamically to sunlight, creating natural shade without electricity—showcasing innovative applications of air-powered soft robotics in architecture.
Throughout the day, visitors of all ages are invited to join workshops, talks, and presentations exploring how design can respond to and interact with the environment.
Programme
– 11:12 – SOMBRA Sun Salutation (yoga session at the pavilion, followed by refreshments)
– 13:12 – SOMBRA Solstice Presentation (with architects, engineers, and researchers)
– 15:12 – Shadow Workshop (hands-on creative session for all ages)
– 17:12 – Soft Robotics & SOMBRA (presentation on air-powered shading systems)
