On the occasion of Real Time, a solo exhibition by Alessio de Girolamo running until October 10 at CAPSULE Venice, and the 2024 Biennale Musica, the gallery will present an evening concert in the garden of its Venetian location. During the live set, Alessio de Girolamo’s latest sound creations will be showcased – compositions that intertwine the artist’s musical history and inspirations with the soundscape of the city of Shanghai.
Through a new iteration of the software of the same name, developed in collaboration with LIM–the Department of Music Informatics at the University of Milan, Real Time utilizes the everyday urban environment as a true orchestra. Classical music scores are rendered in real-time through the audio and video contributions of people in the public spaces surrounding the 2024 Biennale Arte area, in a continuous interplay between the random and the structured, the natural and the artificial.
