The northern Italian region of South Tyrol’s architecture in the years 2018-2024 is documented in the exhibition Alps. Architecture. South Tyrol, a study on the transformations of the urban landscape in the Alpine region. The exhibition features twenty-eight main projects and an equal number of special mentions selected by an international jury from 240 proposals. It questions the existence of a South Tyrolean architecture and what its distinctive features may be. Sustainable planning, careful restoration of urban centers, and responsible use of resources, landscape, and materials are the prevailing themes addressed by the projects.
