Davide Rivalta’s large-scale sculptures have been installed in the public areas facing Palazzo Querini Stampalia: monumental
bronze lions that inhabit urban spaces, engaging in dialogue with the city. The artist returns to one of the most iconic animals in his bestiary to reveal, once again, its composite essence: majestic and silent, and a symbol of freedom, power, and control. Its standing still does not mean passivity but a form of resistance. With Lions on the Field, Rivalta blends together myth and reality, exploring the relationship between urban space and the wild, not yet completely tamed and anthropized, and the complex relationship between different living beings.
