With this project curated by Elisabetta Barisoni, Ca’ Pesaro pays tribute to the most revolutionary period of Marcolino Gandini’s production, the 1960s. In particular, the exhibition focuses on the years 1962-1963, when Gandini’s canvases are characterized by a reduced color palette, with grays, soft blues, and whites, defined by a thick, textured application, and on the so-called ‘monumental period,’ during which the Turin artist expresses himself in large-scale works that transcend two-dimensionality to become abstract architecture.
