The exhibition explores 18th-century Europe through the figure of Casanova, an icon of his era and a witness to life in the great courts, cultural encounters, gambling, and theatrical transformations. Showcased are male and female garments from the 18th century, partly drawn from the museum’s collections, offering an immersive experience into the aesthetics and social dynamics of the time. Set in the first-floor rooms, already decorated in the Venetian 18th-century style, the exhibition highlights fashion as a tool of social assertion in an era where appearance was essential in defining one’s economic and social status.
