The idea of representation in taking on new meanings in recent years. The real world, reproduced within a perspectival scheme, no longer corresponds to our imagination. In the large windows of the Domus Civica, Piera Benetti presents three backdrops: individual works of art abandon the suspended time of the white wall to become almost actors in an alternative space. They are made of humble material, stage paper, upon which imaginaries, representations, and gestures are layered. Colour, central to the artist’s work, does not reflect a likeness but rather shows a positioning that adheres to reality, embedded within it. Where the discord between things opens a space, therein lies another possibility.
