Il latte dei sogni
On July 8, the composer presented to the public his concerto MM22 for Cello and Orchestra, written during the illness that kept him away from the stage for a long time.
Accompanied by the Italian Symphony Orchestra, Giovanni Allevi presents his Concerto MM22 for Cello and Orchestra at the Fenice Theatre on July 8. Composed during his 2022 hospital stay, the piece is based on a melody derived from the word myeloma using a mathematical method once employed by Bach. It unfolds into a poignant, luminous inner journey.
Part of a summer tour launched in June, the concert blends music, reflections, and words, closing with encores Nostalgia and A Perfect Day. The Venice Jazz Festival date is among the most anticipated. For the first time, Allevi incorporates innovative video and lighting technology, transforming the stage into a dreamlike, immersive space where music and visual art merge. The event marks his return to Venice after last year’s solo piano concert at Teatro Goldoni, where he played both his most famous pieces and some of his more recent work.
